Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a unexpected partnership that breaks usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden group.
The mission concentrates on "strange experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a striking scene showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an unique katana alongside several objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
